In a positive move for the Russian travel sector, major tour operator Tez Tour opened its ski booking season early this year.
Russian tour operator opens ski booking season early
“Sales of ski tours for the 2018-19 season began unusually early this year – in April, for the first time ever,” said Tez Tour’s PR Director Larissa Akhanova.

“Ski tourists are some of the most disciplined and far-sighted customers; their priority is the price and precise planning of everything else. Our early booking discounts were 20% and tourists see the benefits of booking in advance,” she explained.

According to Ms Akhanova, the average cost of a ski holiday has increased from 400 to 700 Euros per person, while the timeframe has expanded from being concentrated over the New Year period to a constant demand from December to March.

Tez Tour will offer its own flight programme over the 2018/19 season to destinations such as Andorra, Austria, Bulgaria, and Italy, starting on 29 December until 16 March 2019.

Ms Akhanova is expecting Austria to be Russian tourists’ favourite destination next season as it’s “well known to Russian tourists and affordable.”
