MITT 2018: highlights from a successful show

Showcasing travel opportunities in almost every country and region imaginable, Expocentre’s pavilions buzzed with over 22,700 travel professionals keen to discover new offers and destinations, and discuss business deals.

Raising its profile as a B2B-only event, MITT 2018 saw the introduction of a new matchmaking system – MITT Meetings. Exhibitors and visitors were able to view each other’s profiles and arrange meetings in advance of the show. In total, 1,244 meetings were arranged by around 2,500 active users.

The launch of the new MITT Tourbusiness 365 events programme invited inspiring speakers from across the travel industry to speak in depth on key industry topics. The agenda covered everything from market shocks to changing legislation, digital technologies to hotel management. 111 industry figures spoke on 75 different topics at 16 different events.

One key event was the Ski Tourism session, where experts from Tez Tour, Club Med, Kayseri Ski Resort, Digital Guru, Jet Travel, and Rosa Khutor Ski Resort offered insights into the growing Russian ski tourism market.

“To celebrate MITT’s 25th anniversary, our team created the most content-driven event ever and it was a great success – a third of our visitors returned for a second day, a great testament to the inspiring programme,” reported Artyom Chernyshov, MITT’s Director.

“As always, the exhibition was outstanding. We had over 1,800 exhibitors from more than 170 countries and regions presenting their destinations, products, and services, and meeting the 22,700 professional visitors.”

Exhibitors were pleased with the quality of the visitor audience: “It’s been a really successful MITT this year for us,” said Tatiana Karpikova, Le Grand Group of Companies, Greece. “We got everything we needed; we met all the agencies and partners we wanted, and have created new partnerships, which is very important.”

So, there we have it; another event packed with business opportunities and quality content.

Thank you to all our attendees, exhibitors, and partners, who made the show what it was. We look forward to seeing you again in 2019.
